Pomegranate Textile Art
Home

Welcome to Pomegranate Textile Art...

My name is Jane Smith and I am a textile artist, using batik dyes, hand embroidery and bead work to produce unique, handcrafted pictures on a wide variety of natural themes.

I live in rural Derbyshire (England) on the edge of the Peak District National Park and my surroundings provide a constant source of ideas for my work.

My motif is the pomegranate, which I chose because of its fascinating shape and jewel-like properties. The pomegranate lends itself particularly well to textile art and is also full of symbolism, with a tradition of use spanning the ages.

Personal Commissions...

Each year I am commissioned to produce a number of pictures for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or Christenings. This is not as expensive as it may seem, with prices starting from around £75.

Sometimes I am asked to create pictures for a themed room or to fit in with a particular colour scheme; people often like to buy my chilli and garlic pictures for their kitchens.

Some people may have special memories associated with fruits or flowers and want me to identify this in a personal way.

Please browse examples of my work by clicking on the galleries above and contact me if you have any questions or would like to commission a work of your own.

Examples of my work are also for sale in various galleries around the United Kingdom. Please contact me for further details.
